These pages are dedicated to all Amateur Radio Operators in Pahrump & Southern Nye County Nevada, in particular the members of

The Pahrump Amateur Radio Repeater Association, Inc. {PARRA},

The Southern Nye County Amateur Radio Emergency Service, Inc. {ARES^®/RACES}

The Clubs work several community events each year;

The Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay Race, The Pahrump Town Clean-up, ARRL Field Day, The Pahrump/LV Distance Riders Club events, The Pony Express Trail Ride, and the Pahrump Fall Festival Parade.

In turn these events provide training in several types of operation and conditions which may be needed in emergency situations.

Up Coming Events: 2008

Various "Drills" may be called at any time in conjunction with Nye County Office of Emergency Management. First planned 16 Apr 2008

The Baker 2 Vegas Chalenge Cup Race will be held the weekend of 19 & 20 April 2008.

The next Amateur Testing Sessions will be held on 26 April 2008, 19 July 2008 and 18 October 2008 starting at Noon. This will be held at the Nye County Emergency Management Office (EOC) 1510 SIRI LN, PAHRUMP NV.

A raffle is being set up to start in May and completed at Field Day in June 2008.

The Annual ARRL Field Day will be held the weekend of 28 & 29 June 2008.

The Pony Express Ride will be held 20 September 2008.

LOCAL SWAP-MEET

There is a local "Swap-meet" on the "Third Saturday" of each month from 0800Hrs to 1200Hrs in front of "EZ Communications" 1161 S. LOOP RD. {This is just North of Floyds' ACE Hardware} There is normally several types of communications, computer, and electronics gear made available. If you do not see it ask one of them and they will try and find it for you.
